Project Presentation (Narrated Deck)
Overview
The term-project presentation is a narrated 5-7 slide deck submitted online with the Final Portfolio on Dec 11. There is no in-class presentation session. The deck is the knowledge-translation version of your project: it should emphasize scientific clarity, knowledge translation, reproducibility, and auditability.
Full requirements and the 10-point rubric are in the Presentation brief; this page is the how-to for recording and submitting it.
What To Record
Record narration over your slides so a viewer can follow the story without you in the room. Any of these is acceptable:
- a narrated
slides.htmlorslides.pdfexport; - a short screen recording that walks through the slides with voice-over.
Keep it to the length of a 5-7 slide talk. Aim for a clear spoken explanation of the audience, question, data, main finding, and limitation — not a read-aloud of every word on the slides.
Slide Submission
Before the portfolio deadline, commit and sync:
If you render to PDF instead of HTML, submit slides.pdf. Commit the narrated recording alongside them. Submit the GitHub repository link on Canvas with the latest commit hash and the slide path.
A commit hash is the unique identifier GitHub assigns every saved version of your work. It looks like a3f92bc. To find it, go to your repository on GitHub, click Commits, and copy the short code on the right. You can also run git log --oneline -1 in the terminal.
Slide Checklist
Before submitting, check that:
- slides render from source in a fresh Codespace;
- fonts and figures are readable on screen;
- every chart has a title, units, and limitation cue;
- source and data notes are visible;
- the final slide gives the audience a clear takeaway;
- the narration is audible and matches what is on screen;
- backup notes include data source, cohort, and AI-use details.
Portfolio Reminder
The presentation is scored as the Presentation component (10 points) of the Final Portfolio. Use the M4 peer feedback you received to revise the final report, dashboard-style KT product, and deck together, then confirm the Final Portfolio Checklist before submission.
Definition Of Done
The presentation is done when the narrated slides are committed, rendered, and submitted with the Final Portfolio, and play without relying on local-only files.
