Setting Up Your Group Repository

This page supports Milestone 0 (group formation) — see the M0 README for the full deliverables. Your group does not create a blank repository from scratch: you start from the group project template.

  1. Fork the template: One member opens the group project template repository (linked from Canvas) and creates a fork for the group. A fork is the group’s own copy of the template. If you cannot access Canvas, ask the teaching team for the template link.
  2. Invite: That member adds the other teammates as collaborators on the group fork; others accept the invite.
  3. Clone: Everyone launches their own Codespace from the group fork.
  4. Norms: Agree: “No direct pushes to main” — all changes go through branches and pull requests.
  5. Test: Everyone makes a small README.md update (for example, add your name) to verify access.
